A federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail to Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly.
The Judge who preceded over the case Justice Mohammed Idris ordered the Senator to produce two sureties who must pay Fifty Million Naira Bond within 72 hours or his bail will be revoked.
Justice Mohammed Idris also order him to deposit his Passport and other traveling documents to the court and he is not to travel outside Nigeria without the Court’s approval.
The the senator’s arraignment by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) came as a result of allegations of Fraud levied against him.
The counsel representing the Senator asked the court for bail based on the senator’s self recognizance which was opposed by the prosecutor.
The senator is alleged to have purchased a property identified as Guinea House located in Marine Road Apapa, Lagos with money from fraudulent and unlawful acts.
The accused is been charged along with Golden Touch Construction Projects Limited and Suiming Electricals Nigeria Limited.
The EFCC also informed the court of other pending charges against the lawmakers.
The senator has been remanded in Ikoyi Prison.
