Army Dismisses Danjuma’s Claims On Taraba State Crisis

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai has dismissed as untrue, allegation of collusion levelled against the military during its operations in Taraba state.

He stated that from the findings of the report of the Panel instituted by the Army, the allegation from elder statesman, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd) did not reflect the true situation of things in Taraba state.

Addressing journalists on the Executive Summary of the Report, Gen. Buratai said the army and the Commanding Officer of 93 Battallion, Taraba state, performed their duties diligently, professionally and without bias.

Gen. Buratai who was represented at the briefing by the Chief of Civil Military Relations, Maj. Gen. Nuhu Amgbaso said: “it would be recalled, that the Nigerian Army has been conducting operations to tackle the security challenges in the North West, North Central and North Eastern regions of Nigeria.”
