Terror, sorrow and confusion has befallen Adamu Nakwana, a businessman in Maganda Village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as armed bandits on Sunday morning abducted his three wives.
The attack reportedly occurred around 2.00am.
This development happened six days after the Chief of Army staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai visited Birnin Gwari and ordered his troops hunt down kidnappers who are unleashing mayhem in the area.
An anonymous resident of Maganda community said, “The bandits, who came in scores, locked down the whole town when they attacked on Sunday morning”.
The source further said, “They went straight to Alhaji Adamu’s house and took away his three wives. They did not harm any person but people were fleeing as they did not know if they will come back for another attack”.
According to the source, the bandits later released one of the kidnapped women and gave her a number and also instructed that Alhaji Adamu should call them probably to negotiate for payment of ransom for the release of the women.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Kaduna State Police Command, Mukhtar Aliyu, could not be reached for comments on the development as his phones were switched off.
