Unai Emery has announced himself as the new Arsenal manager on his official website.
The Spaniard released a picture of himself with the Arsenal badge in front of a picture of the Emirates.
A caption below the badge read: “Proud to be part of the Arsenal family.”
The Spaniard appears to have prematurely announced himself as Arsene Wenger’s replacement.
Emery’s official Twitter still has ‘PSG Coach’ in his bio, despite the shock announcement on his website.
The Gunners have opted for the former Paris Saint-Germain head coach after his contract expired in the French capital.
Mikel Arteta was the front runner until Monday, when the Gunners had a change of heart, opting for the experienced option at a precious time.
Arsene Wenger departs after 22 years and despite being young for a manager at 46 years old, Emery has vast experience in the game with over 700 games in charge.
The landing page, which included Emery’s signature, briefly went down before reappearing.
An official announcement from the club is pending, while his unveiling looks set to take place on Wednesday.
