The Edo State Commissioner for Science and Technology has charged members of the Junior Engineers Technicians and Scientists Club (JETS) in Edo State to rise up to the call of next generation leadership in invention as the world looks forward to the unknown.
Dr. Christopher Adesotu made this call while playing host to the outgoing executive of the Edo State chapter of the JETS Club who were in his office to keep the ministry abreast of their activities and the need for effective partnership to deepen the core objectives of the club.
The Commissioner who was excited with the activities and zeal of the club promised that the ministry will participate in the Club’s election scheduled for 29th June,2018 at Edokpolor Grammar in Benin City, noting that there was need to solidify the partnership in areas of chosing executives, increasing participating schools, creating a database and mentoring.
He also urge them to get set for the Edo State Expo 2018 as they will be given opportunity to feature in the program to demonstrate what they are capable of, and where external bodies and government can be of immense assistance.
Some senior staff of the ministry also admonished the JETS Club to follow up competitively on what is obtainable across the globe.
Those who accompanied the President Atondu Zaki to give details of their innovations were Onwordi Isioma from St Maria Goretti, Osazee Avanrenren from Ihogbe College, Ogbewi Emmanuel from Word of Truth, Rosemary Omoaka from St Maria Goretti and Osariemen Endurance from Niger College.
